Building grade/upgrade an entire building with 1 click

#1
Hi, i would like to suggest this plugin to be considered, it can be a great addition to have if you have already built a base in that tier, but a bit later you decide you want to upgrade it further.

Lets say i have a stone base but maybe a few days or weeks later, i decide i want to upgrade it to metal/armored, this plugin lets me upgrade the full base without having to remove half of the other walls/floors etc.

Of course, it has to be set and configured so you need to have all the materials needed for an entire upgrade

Yeah, we decided that's an admin only plugin I'm afraid. We use it sometimes but we don't think it's a good idea for players to have it for a number of private reasons. ;)

We might change our mind, but my gut feel is we won't.

hmm, that would be wierd.
may i ask why this wouldnt suit the players? it can still be configured to only upgrade your own base, not others and it still cost to upgrade.

Btw, if its configuration that you guys might need help with, then i can gladly help with that as i know exactly how this one works. I had about 3 servers over the past few years and this and another one was my 2 best plugins ever favoured by the players.

Oh it would suit the players just fine. It's US it doesn't suit. ;)

Here's a clue. One person fills his inventory up with materials and upgrades his huge base. Lag spike. Then he deliberately downgrades it again. Lag spike. Then he upgrades again. Lag spike. Now imagine 5 players doing that all at the same time... :(

We have to protect the servers from trolls and toxics. We see this as a potential exploit and a way of abusing the servers so we won't allow it. There's a similar plugin we also don't let players use for exactly the same reason - I can't remember what it is off the top of my head, but I posted a warning about it on the Oxide forums months ago. Some admins understood and "got it", others didn't. I see a lot of people giving access to what we consider an admin plugin, and a few like us who know what human nature is like and who don't.

As well as that quite visible and public reason (which is more than enough), we also have "private reasons" we're NEVER giving access to this to players. ;)
