What do you do with these donations?
Spend it on beer and dresses mostly. Not really, we use it pay for the game servers and web site hosting. A good chunk of money also goes on special plugins that we have to pay for, and some of it goes on custom plugin development too.
What's so special about the GameKeeper servers?
The admins. We really do want to make our servers the best place to play. That's why we spend a lot of time on the servers ourselves and add players to our friends list. It's a LOT of work.
How much work does it take?
A lot. Literally hundreds of hours have gone into testing, installing and configuring plugins, setting up special groups and permissions, and just being there on the servers. It's all that hard work that differentiates us from other servers.
How many plugins and mods on the servers?
On the Rust servers there are 100+ plugins, and some of them are only found on a handful of servers in the world, while some others can only be found on the GameKeeper.io servers. We do this to keep you coming back for more.
Why do you do this?
We're masochists. No, we have a dream that one day together with donations, plus products we create that we sell to other server owners, we *might* just make enough money to do this full time. It's an uphill battle and a long slog ahead of us. Yeah, we were correct in the first sentence - we're masochists.
How much does it cost to run it all?
Well, with probably over $500 dollars already spent on plugins alone, plus specialist software to keep everything running, plus the monthly hosting fees of around $350 (game servers and web site), quite a lot really. Not to mention our time, which is probably the most valuable commodity.
How can I help?
In the first instance, donate. Currently every penny donated to us goes straight back into the servers. We will keep making it better and better until we're happy that you're happy.
Do you need any mods or extra admins?
Quite often we do, yes. And when we do, we will very likely ask someone who is a donator, or who spends a lot of time on the server. It's VERY hard being an admin or mod as at GameKeeper it means you can't also be a player - it's too easy to abuse those super powers - so you just can't get involved in the game itself.
When will I, will I be famous?
I can't answer that. I can't answer that.
